University Politics Department

The University Politics Department represents the interests of students in all academic and administrative matters. We act as the bridge between students, program management, and university administration, ensuring that student voices are heard and their rights are protected.
What We Do
Program Management & Academic Issues
- Resolve program-related issues in collaboration with MGT and CIT academic staff.
- Participate in meetings with program managers to advocate for students.
- Forward and follow through with student complaints and improvement suggestions.
Hiring Committees & Elections
- Organize and manage student elections for various representative positions.
- Gather and assess candidates, ensuring fair and transparent processes.
- Appoint and support members in hiring committees for academic positions.
Student Policy & Rights Engagement
- Receive and assist with student rights-related concerns.
- Communicate with relevant university departments to ensure issues are addressed.
- Provide support and guidance on academic and administrative matters.
Representation & Collaboration
- Maintain regular contact with Semester Representatives.
- Cooperate closely with FSMGT and FSCIT to align inter-departmental goals.
- Work with the Communications Department to ensure information flows effectively.

2. Join a Hiring Committees
What you’ll do:
- Review candidate applications
- Join meetings to decide who gets invited
- Participate in interviews (~8-10 candidates over 2 days)
- Write a short statement (~1–2 pages) on the selected candidate
Duration:
- Committees usually run for 2–3 months
Why join:
- Meet professors personally and build connections
- Influence who joins our faculty
- All costs (travel, meals, etc.) are covered by the faculty
3. Be a semester representative
What you’ll do:
- Collect and summarize feedback from classmates
- Forward important issues to the Semester Representative Manager
- Manage your semester’s WhatsApp group (according to council guidelines)
- Attend coordination meetings, workshops, and training sessions
- Help classmates by answering questions and connecting them with the right contacts
- Share updates about important deadlines, events, and announcements
- Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive topics
Appointment:
- Elected by your semester at the start of the academic year
Collaboration:
- Work closely with other Semester Representatives, the Student Representative Manager, and the Student Council
Term:
- One academic year (renewable upon re-election)
